Here is Monday's Morning Message for February 23, 2026,
from Brother Sam Scheib:
Good morning, Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Happy Monday to you.
Today, I want to encourage you to pray for what you're struggling with and
then thank the LORD for the resistance He provides. Many have heard people
say, "don't pray for patience, the LORD will give you a task that requires
patience." Well then, I ask, how will you ever become patient? The LORD
builds us with resistance training. Whatever we're struggling with whether it
be courage, strength, patience, empathy, or willpower, we need resistance to
grow. A runner won't get faster without running. A student won't get smarter
without studying. No one gets better without practice. Through hard things,
the LORD shapes us into the people He wants us to be. There is a promise
at the end of our trials when we put our faith in Him and His process. James,
in his letter, tells us this: "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under
trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which
God has promised to those who love Him" (James 1.12).
Peter also affirms Jesus' promise to us of building us into the people He
wants us to be in his first letter: "And after you have suffered a little while,
the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will
Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you" (1 Peter 5.10).
Pray for what you struggle with and when God meets your request with
resistance, embrace it. Praise Him and rejoice knowing that on the other
side you will be better for it. "Dear Brothers and Sisters, when troubles of
any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you
know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow"
(James 1.2-3). "We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials,
for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops
strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of
salvation" (Romans 5.3-4).
Pray for patience; pray for courage; pray for willpower; pray for what you
need. But when the LORD answers with resistance, do not curse His Name.
Rejoice and thank Him for His promise!
Have a blessed week.
Soli Deo Gloria!
